chewy chocolate & counterstrikes

I don't feel much like cooking right now, but I do feel like shouting the praises of these cookies from the rooftops because they are AH-maize-ing. (no, they don't have corn in them, but they're good enough to warrant a special spelling of, um, "maz"). If you have Eat Drink & Be Vegan, don't overlook the double carob cashew cookies, cause they rule. I had to grind my own cashew butter but that just gave them this glorious nubbly-nut texture, along with the righteous chew factor, which these have definitely got. And they're made all of chocolate, even though I love carob. I just didn't have any around. a-MAIZE-ing. Go make them, you'll like.

Also, Bazu put it way better than I could ever say, but there's this revolt against Anthony Bourdain going on right now that's clever and almost-non-vindictive and results in possible charity for animal rights organizations. We, as vegans, are going to attempt to veganize (and thus improve!) Bourdain nastypants' recipes and make those into a zine for fun and nonprofit, and maybe a mouth-melting new onion soup recipe or two. I just wanted to make sure there was another link to all that in the blogosphere, because it's pretty cool, and some of you out there must be whizzes at french cookery, or know anything at all about french cookery, which is more than I can say and why I'm passing the message along. -------> Fork Bourdain for Charity -- Hezbollah Tofu

Seriously, how could anyone -not- like a cookie so like a cookie like that? Definitely deserves a special spelling of "amazing".

I saw the Hezbollah Tofu site! I love the name (makes me think of "soymilk jihad" or something), the onion soup recipe looks delish, and rebelling against a weird, extremely anti-vegan jerk is always awesome.

Mmm, fresh nubly cashew butter... I get where you're coming from. :)

wow, considering you're not feeling like cooking, you certainly created a scrumptious batch of cookies (with CAROB!!! my obsession, haha).

ahh, I cannot STAND Anthony Bourdain - he's so appalling!!
