Daring Bakers pizza challenge!

Yep, it's happened here before, and t'will happen here again. Pretty much any time I get an incredulous gasp when I mention samosa pizza, I just have to change some minds, hehe.

Oh, and I was dared to make crust. I'm a Daring Baker now!

It involves making some yummy spicy curry potatoes. I used red and fingerlings, which are adorable, I just have to mention. Lots of mustard seeds, cumin seeds, coriander, turmeric, red chile, lime juice and garam masala and coconut oil. More spices. Oh, make it spicier.

And then puree up some fresh pineapple and reduce it a little bit over heat with a splash of red wine vinegar.

Layer!

Oh, and I had to get a shot of myself flipping the dough... this is the best one. My camera is wack.

But my pizza? It's pretty magically delicious. The dough is a little sweeter than I usually like, but hands down the stretchiest blob of dough I've ever had the pleasure of spinning on my knuckles. I like the part about letting it rest on the counter! Anyway, you'll want to serve this one with beer, or a big salad to make up for the lack of vegetation. And chutney couldn't hurt.
I swear it's not even close to as weird as it sounds. :)

Oooh that looks like a slice of heaven! I rarely ever eat pineapples, but on pizza they're just magic.

"as weird as it sounds"...uh, actually, it sounds awesome. Kind of like the potato/rosemary/other herb combinations that were making the rounds a couple years ago, but with fruit! I love fruit in savory food: it takes my brain to the middle ages, even if the fruit happens to be one that would have been nowhere near cold potato-growing climates.

The potatoes have me tempted. And, I love your kitchen, especially the windows...

So, I was drooling over that pizza the first time I saw it, and now I am gushing with envy over the deliciousness of it. Two of my favorite food genres together?! I couldn't wish for more. Except maybe that you'd fried the pizza like a samosa...ohhhh fried samosa calzones...I might have something there!

That pizza looks delicious! I'm sold on untraditional pizza toppings after making the Thai Chick-un Pizza from Eat, Drink and Be Vegan. Yum!

samosa pizza sounds like the most magical thing to me! mmmmmmmmm! potatoes on pizza?! yes, please! i really love the idea of the pureed pineapple, and i'd also like to say that i agree, fingerling potatoes are adorable. i always see them at our local natural foods store and i imagine them to be potatoes that talk with little cute squeaky voice, cute little potatoes that want me to take them home and make yummies out of them. oooo, yay!

i wonder if chickpeas would be rock'n on pizza?! i bet they would be on your samosa pizza! squeeeeeeee!

i'm totally gonna have to make a samosa pizza for myself some day soon!
